The Tom Tom One has been one of the biggest selling sat nav systems on the market. Version 3 is simply a updated version of the standard unit. Street level mapping provided by TeleAtlas, door to door routing and clear voice prompts.
Tom Tom One Version 3 combines ease of use, portability together with a very low price tag. As with most sat nav products these days you can use it straight from the box as the maps of UK & Ireland come ready programmed on an SD card. Just plug it in and go.
Standard features include re-routing technology if you miss a turn, day and night screen modes, extensive points of interest and Favourites where you can store a small database of your most used addresses.
The unit does come with Free safety camera information included but updates can be patchy and the cover is no where near as good as dedicated 2 in 1 solutions
Traffic information available – requires mobile phone with GPRS and Bluetooth. Costs approx £28 per year.
Sat Nav Express Opinion
The Tom Tom One is a good unit, but not the best. You see a lot of Tom Tom's around but there are in fact much better units on the market. Garmin and the new Snooper Syrius Plus are better navigation products, especially if you want a unit that really can locate speed cameras well. If you want something very cheap though Tom Tom One ticks all the right boxes.
