The area was peaceful until the popularity of sat nav devices, which list the lane as a link road.
Properties were damaged by the vehicles, which were usually forced to back out.
Hampshire County Council then acted on the complaints and set up the signs last November saying: "No wide vehicles. Do not follow sat nav. Very narrow lane."
It is believed to be the first time in Britain that such a sign has been put up.
"This is a unique measure for the county and is not something we would normally do," a council spokeswoman said.
She added that the council had also contacted the sat nav companies to ask them to take the route off their devices.
